8-Week Courses

Zen PebblesThe 8-week mindfulness course (MBSR/MBCT) teaches simple meditation practices that can help us become more present to our experience and manage thoughts, emotions and body sensations more effectively.

In the course you will learn:

The course comprises an initial 2 hour orientation session, followed by eight weekly 2 hour sessions. There is also a six-hour day retreat which takes place on a Sunday towards the end of the course. (24 hours of teaching/group mindfulness practice in total). The sessions are experiential in nature. Participants are encouraged to share their experiences with the group, although this is not essential. The course provides a safe and supportive environment to explore your experience.

Our approach includes all the key elements of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), which are the gold standard mindfulness training courses.Sessions are made up of a combination of mindfulness practices (such as body scanning, sitting meditation and gentle movement), discussion, and short presentations. We also invite you to develop your own practice through weekly homework (about 45 mins a day). We provide a course handbook and guided audios for you to do this. The cost of the course is £260, which includes the 9 weekly sessions, course audios and handbook, plus the day retreat. We have a small number of concessionary places available on our courses - please contact us for details. Pre-registration is essential for all our courses. Courses are taught by Ed Halliwell unless otherwise stated.

Thursday Morning Course

8 weekly sessions from 11th April 2019 until 30th May 2019, 10am-midday, taught by Ed Halliwell. Course includes a six-hour day retreat on Sunday 19th May (NB The orientation session for this course has taken place, however you can join this course after an orientation phone call, which will be arranged after you have booked your place). Saturday Morning Course

Orientation session on Saturday 18th May 2019 10am-12pm and then for 8 weekly sessions from 25th May 2019 until 20th July 2019 (with a break week on 29th June), taught by Ed Halliwell. Course includes includes a six-hour day retreat on Sunday 7th July. Book your place.

Wednesday Morning Course

Orientation session on Wednesday 22nd May 2019 10am-12pm and then for 8 weeks from 29th May 2019, taught by Ed Halliwell. Course includes a six-hour day retreat on Sunday 7th July. Book your place.

Wednesday Evening Course

Orientation session on Wednesday 25th September 2019 7.30-9,30pm and then for a further 8 weeks, taught by Ed Halliwell. Course includes a six-hour day retreat on 10th November.Book your place.

One-to-one / small group courses

Ed Halliwell has a few spaces available for mindfulness training on an individual basis or for a small private group in Cuckfield, West Sussex, or one-to-one via Skype. Sponsored and Concessionary places

Carers support logoWe offer a limited number of fully sponsored places for carers on our 8-week courses and work with the Carer Support Service in Mid Sussex to offer these. If you would like to be considered for one of these places please contact us for a discussion.

We also offer concessionary rates for those whose financial circumstances mean that they are unable to afford the course. Please contact us if you would like to apply for a concessionary rate.
