A 10-Week Graduate Course

Mindfulness teaches us to take a different perspective on our lives - instead of being caught up in rumination and reactivity, we learn how to connect with a friendly, embodied presence that helps us live fully and authentically. In this new graduate course, we'll explore in depth the key processes that support this change - defusing from automatic thoughts, letting go of struggle, paying attention to the senses, approaching difficulty with kindness, cultivating awareness, connecting with values and taking authentic action. Through a range of experiential exercises taken from Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT), as well as familiar and new meditation practices, we'll deepen these mindful processes within us to develop greater psychological flexibility and ability to choose our life direction. With 24 hours of contact time (9x2hr weekly sessions, and a 6hr retreat day) including guided meditation, group inquiry and weekly home practice suggestions, this course is an excellent opportunity to explore mindfulness from new angles, as well as to refresh and deepen our practice together. Taught by Ed Halliwell.
